Members of the Friends of Hart Park and Museum presented Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich with a unique cattle brand on Wednesday for his years of service to the community. The brand was especially designed for Antonovich – who retires from office this year – and bears the initials W.S.H. for William S. Hart.
In turn, Antonovich recognized the Friends of Hart Park and Museum for their dedication in preserving Hart’s 1927 home in Newhall.
The William S. Hart Park and Museum is the former residence of the famed silent film actor and director who produced a series of hit western movies in the early 1900s. Visitors can enjoy a collection of farm animals, a herd of American Bison, picnic areas, a series of hiking trails, and a western-themed gift store. The Friends of Hart Park and Museum are approximately 170 dedicated volunteers who donate their time and talents to support the museum and park facilities. Their efforts allow this facility to be well maintained and free to the public.
