The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival is holding auditions for their summer Shakespeare in the Park production OTHELLO. This year’s production is directed by Tiger Reel, with performances in July and August.
All roles are open. Actors interested in auditioning should prepare a two minute Shakespeare monologue. Auditions are by appointment only. To request an appointment, actors are asked to email a picture and resume to casting@SCShakespeareFest.org . Auditions will be held at a local theatre in Santa Clarita, April 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Shakespeare in the Park production in Santa Clarita was originally established in 1990. The event was dormant for a number of years, and in 2009 was reestablished at the Rivendale site in Towsley Canyon. The Shakespeare in the Park production is now part of the L.A. SummerFEST, a free, five-week, eclectic summer cultural festival, presented in collaboration with a number of other local non-profit organizations. The festival is presented annually at the Rivendale site in Towsley Canyon.
