Sep 14, 2017: Make Your Own Native Rock Art at Old Town Newhall Library
Sep 14, 2017 03:30 pm

Kids in Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to make their own version of Native rock art – by painting symbols on stone – and then creating a useful trivet for hot cups. There will be examples of native designs that the young artists can follow, or they can create their own.

In old times, there was no “art.” Designs were made on useful items to identify relationships or to tell a story. Paint = Power…so come make your own story trivet.

This craft opportunity is in conjunction with the “Neshkinukat: One Who Has Relatives” exhibit currently on display at the library. For more information on the exhibit, visit SantaClaritaArts.com/Galleries.
