The Spartan Foundation, the charitable arm of Spartan Race, Inc., has partnered with Santa Clarita Valley schools and community children’s groups to sponsor free registration for up to 500 local kids in the Spartan Kids Race at Castaic Lake on December 9-10.
The city of Santa Clarita is a local partner of the event.
The Spartan Race is a national endurance obstacle race, and the event happening in December is expected to bring approximately 15,000 competitors to Castaic Lake. The Spartan Foundation is offering free Kids Race entry to 500 local kids ages 4 to 13 to help promote healthy activities and provide opportunities for youth that may not be able to otherwise participate. The organization provides “extraordinary experiences for underserved and challenged youth,” according to its mission statement.
Free registration is available on a first come, first served basis for kids in the Santa Clarita Valley. Parents can claim a spot in the Spartan Kids Race for their children by using the code SRFOUNDATIONLA during the registration process. Parents will be able to apply the code to their registration after entering participant information.
To take advantage of free registration for a Spartan Kids Race event at Castaic Lake State Park, registration must be completed online in advance of the event. Families can visit www.spartan.com to register.
Families can learn more about the physical challenges of the Spartan Kids Race on the event’s website or by watching the Spartan Race’s video titled “Spartan Kids Race” on YouTube.
