Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a man and a woman on multiple weapons and drug charges in Castaic early Thursday evening, according to station officials.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a restaurant parking lot located on the 27700 block of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic on Thursday at approximately 5 p.m.
An observant citizen had contacted the station regarding suspicious activity witnessed in the parking lot of a restaurant – a male adult was seen placing a rifle in the backseat of his vehicle.
Arriving deputies detained two adults seated in the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, deputies found numerous airsoft rifles and handguns.
At least seven of the assault-style rifles had been altered, and appeared real, with safety tips removed.
Deputies also located narcotics and several pieces of stolen mail in the vehicle.
Deputies arrested two adults, a male and female both in their early 20s, on charges of altering imitation firearms, mail theft, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
The case is being investigated by SCV Sheriff’s Station detectives.
