“Burglary tools.” Are these different from other tools? What exactly makes these special enough to point to them and say, “Look! Burglary Tools!”
Thirty-five years ago I was rousted by cops at four AM after working most of the night remodeling a fashion store. I was dropping a co-worker off at his home when they came up on us. Upon seeing our equipment in the back of my car, I still recall one of them saying, “Burglary Tools!”
Lockpicking tools are different from other types of tools.

Lockpicking tools, although more likely to fit that description, were not mentioned in your article, were they?
Yes they were, by another name — burglary tools :)
seems like the woman doesn’t want to get in trouble for too many thngs does she….why stop at stealing a car lets keep doing more bad stuff….so happy the neighbor saw his license plates and reported it ….and that dirt bag is probably already on bail
Come on SCVNews. You know that most often when cops say “burglary tools” they are NOT referring to lock picking tools. If lock picking tools where really what they found you were remiss for not actually stating that was exactly what they found. Most people who have their cars stolen or houses broken into do not have their locks picked and you know it!

Thanks. This is important to the story because it shows the sophistication of the thefts. Not run of the mill. She is a “professional” thief although stupid of her (or she was high) to use license plate in same area they were stolen from.
It sounds like his car wasn’t stolen just the plates. Was the Honda that was stolen from a SCV resident as well?
Or did they steal the car from another area say in the valley and just happen to have the bad luck to use them here? That would really be a laugh.
This almost makes me want to call Lowes and Home Depot’s tool departments and inquire about those burglary tools they carry. Hello- Got lockpicking devices? No. Slim Jims? No. But…
