Deputies arrested a male adult Sunday for starting a brush fire by Creekside Road. The following details are from the social media account of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station:
While some of our deputies were deployed to the #WoolseyFire this past weekend, patrol deputies in Santa Clarita arrested a male adult who started a brush fire behind one of the auto dealerships on Creekside Drive in Valencia Sunday afternoon.
A passerby on the bike trail observed the man near the fire, and immediately called 911. The first deputy on scene grabbed the fire extinguisher from his patrol car and was able to put the fire out before it got out-of-control.
The citizen and deputy’s quick actions averted what could have been a potentially devastating incident as Santa Clarita was under a Red Flag Warning accompanied by Santa Ana winds on that day. The 64-year-old transient was arrested on felony charges of reckless fire. Deputies discovered that he was also on probation for the same crime, reckless fire.

On probation for “reckless fire” and arrested again for the same crime. This could have destroyed hundreds of homes and killed dozens of people. Wonder if he’ll be let off AGAIN?
