Firefighters doused a small brush fire in the Santa Clara River wash near the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and Bouquet Canyon Road, Bouquet Junction, late Tuesday afternoon.
Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatchers received a report of a small fire “creeping up the riverbed at 4:06 p.m.,” a spokesman said Wednesday.
Several LACoFD units from different stations were en route by 4:08 and on the scene at 4:10, he said.
Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station also arrived on the scene to provide traffic control at and near the intersection, the busiest in the city.
The fire burned 1/4 acre, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters reported the incident closed at 6:09 p.m.
The fire’s cause was unknown but under investigation, the spokesman said.
