At this New Heights Workshop, digital market expert, Sheri Candler, will walk filmmakers through the important process of audience identification with emphasis on where to find an audience (both online and offline) and the key tools available to filmmakers to capture their audience’s attention and compel that audience to watch their film. The workshop is on April 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Centre.
Key focus areas of this workshop include: developing a targeted marketing plan and finding your “niche,” identifying the emotional and psychological drivers in your story that will help pinpoint your core audience, and identifying key marketing needs to attract them to your story.
As a filmmaker, you will also learn about discerning the difference between a Mass, Niche and Core audience and how to use research tools to give you a better understanding of the size and motivations of your core audience. Sheri will discuss which promotional tactics work best and how to effectively utilize social media, advertising, publicity and crowdsourcing. She’ll delve into budgeting your marketing needs, the value of email databases, preparing for marketing while in production, and more.
