Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:
(1) Robbery, (1) Aggravated Assault, (10) Residential Burglaries, (1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Theft from an Unlocked Vehicle, (2) Petty Thefts, (1) Shoplift and (1) GTA.
A robbery occurred along the Santa Clara River trail near Canyon View Drive. Three Hispanic male suspects approached the victim as he was walking home in the early morning. They began hitting the victim in the face and body with unknown metal objects and took his wallet and backpack. The suspects remain outstanding and the case is currently under investigation.
An aggravated assault occurred near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road when an unknown suspect approached the victim from behind and choked him unconscious.
There were nine more garage burglaries in the area of Rainbow Glen Drive and Flo Lane. Unknown suspects are gaining access into the garages by prying open the pedestrian doors. They appear to be bypassing doors with the top deadbolt locks. Santa Clarita detectives and deputies are working diligently in order to apprehend these suspect(s).
A commercial burglary occurred near the 26900 block of Ruether Avenue. An unknown suspect broke into an office and several storage containers and took electronic items.
A female suspect was arrested for shoplifting near the 18600 block of Via Princessa. The suspect attempted to take items from the location without paying for them when she was detained by loss prevention. Responding deputies took custody of the suspect.
A 2003 Toyota Echo was taken near the intersection of Rainbow Glen Drive and Rue Crevier.
In addition to shoplifting, there were several arrests made in the Canyon Country West area. Arrests included battery, narcotics, weapons and commercial burglary.
