Saugus, Zone 4 Update
Public Safety & Crime Prevention Information
Snapshot 12/01/2014 – 12/07/2014
The following Part 1 crimes were reported in Saugus over the past week:
There were three crimes reported in the 28000 block of Cero Drive in the early morning hours of Dec. 4. The first was a residential burglary where the victim had his garage door opener stolen from his unlocked vehicle. The suspects opened the victim’s garage and stole numerous electrical items. The other two crimes were thefts from unlocked vehicles. Both victims discovered items missing from their unlocked vehicles overnight. Santa Clarita Detectives are working on all three related incidents.
A commercial burglary was reported in the 28100 block of Wellston Drive between November 26th and December 1st. Employees at the location discovered a window had been pried open and entry was made. It has yet to been determined if anything was taken.
Crime Prevention Tip: Please remember to lock you vehicle when leaving it unattended. Take any items of value with you or secure them out of view or in the trunk of your vehicle. Thefts from unlocked vehicles are typically crimes of opportunity. The best defense to this type of crime is to not give the thief a chance in the first place.
