Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Due to the proactive police work of the Deputies and alert citizens of Saugus, there was only one Part-1 crime last week. There was a Grand Theft from the 27100 block of Garza Drive on Saturday, 03/02/13. The suspect stole jewelry belonging to the victim and possibly pawned it at a local pawn shop. The victim believes that the suspect is a known acquaintance of his. Santa Clarita detectives and members of the Crime Prevention Unit are following up on this case.
There were numerous arrests made in the Saugus area over the past week. In one case a male was arrested for possession of concentrated cannabis. The driver was stopped near the corner of Urbandale Drive/Alaminos Drive late Tuesday night, 03/05/13. After smelling the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle the Deputy detained the driver. After searching the vehicle marijuana and concentrated cannabis was located. The driver was charged with possession of concentrated cannabis, a felony, and possession of marijuana, an infraction.
