This week in Canyon Country-East we had 8 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there were 2 assaults, 1 burglary and 5 larcenies.
An assault occurred from the 18000 block of Sundowner Way on June 26th at 12:50 Hrs. Deputies responded code 3 to an assault with a deadly weapon call. Once the deputies arrived there was a large crowd. While the deputies were attempting to detain the suspect, he became uncooperative and was pepper sprayed. The suspect’s sister was arrested for forcibly trying to intervene and stop the arrest of her brother. The suspect and his father were arrested for threatening the victim with a knife and kicking his front door in.
An assault occurred from the 15400 block of Nasturium Drive on June 29th at 4:00 pm. Deputies responded code 3 to a family disturbance. The call stated the suspect was under the influence of drugs and was trying to hit his wife and daughter. The call was then updated that the suspect had a knife. When deputies responded they asked the suspect to place his hands behind his back but he did not comply. When deputies grabbed the suspects arm, he pulled away his arm from the deputy’s grip. The suspect was pepper sprayed and taken to the ground. After a brief struggle the suspect was handcuffed.
A garage burglary occurred from the 18000 block of Danielson Drive between June 28th , 6:00 pm – June 29th, 6:00 am. The garage door was pried open from the bottom corner. Suspect(s) entered the garage and stole electronics from the unlocked vehicle.
A grand theft occurred from the 16000 block of Placerita Canyon Road on June 28th between 12:30 am – 9:00 am. Two rear seats were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. A petty theft occurred from the 15000 block of Daffodil Avenue on June 19th between 1:00 am – 3:00 am. A tool bag and miscellaneous paperwork was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. A shoplifting occurred from Vons. The suspect attempted to push a cart full of groceries out of the store. When he was confronted by an employee, the suspect left the cart and ran out of view. Two shopliftings occurred at Target. The suspect was seen on surveillance selecting electronics, placing them in a shopping cart and walking out of the store without paying for the items. On a different day, a suspect was seen on surveillance walking out of the store without paying for an item.
