Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary in Newhall will host a non-denominational Service of Remembrance on Dec. 9 beginning at 5:30 p.m. This annual tradition is a time when members of the community can come together to remember and celebrate their loved ones in a festive holiday setting. The event will be held at Eternal Valley’s Chapel of the Hills, 23287 N. Sierra Highway.
In addition, Eternal Valley is a proud sponsor of the annual toy drive for needy children in the community held by the Santa Clarita Branch of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. New, unwrapped toys can be brought to the mortuary office no later than December 16, or to the Service of Remembrance.
“The holidays are usually a joyous time, filled with special memories. However, they can be especially difficult after the loss of a loved one,” said Curtis Woods, General Manager, Eternal Valley.” Through this service we hope to provide support to the recently bereaved and to the feelings of loss that can be amplified during the holiday season.”
The event begins with Victorian Carolers and be followed by a memorial service that will be concelebrated by local clergy. The memorial service, which includes a Memorial Pictorial Tribute, will offer insight and practical ways to make it through the holidays. Immediately afterward, guests will be invited to light a candle as they remember and honor their loved one in a very special way. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
Community members are invited to add a photograph of a loved one to the Memorial Pictorial Tribute. Photos may be emailed to sydney.yeseta@dignitymemorial.com or brought to the mortuary office by December 5.
The service is offered at no charge to community members and their guests. All guests who plan to attend are requested to RSVP. For more information on the service and toy drive, and to RSVP, please call (661) 259-0800.
