Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies cited one man for drinking in public and arrested another man on various drug charges in Canyon Country Friday night.

Here’s the story from station officials:

Two SCV Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling Canyon Country Friday night when they spotted a vehicle in the Crossglade Avenue area that had been parked there for a while.

They decided to check it out, and when they approached the car, they noticed one of the occupants in the front was drinking a beer. So, that was an automatic citation for drinking in public for that 30-year-old Canyon Country man.

But then they noticed the male adult occupant in the back seat of the car. The man was allegedly packaging narcotics right then and there.

He had a scale, packaging material, narcotics, and U.S. currency on him (even though his job occupation was stated as unemployed).

The 34-year-old man, a transient, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of heroin, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. The suspect was transported and booked at SCV Sheriff’s Station.
