1941 - Julius Dietzmann family of Castaic arrested as German enemy aliens [story]

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

[Sen. Feinstein] – A poll released this week by the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health found a strong majority of Americans support a wide array of measures to prevent gun violence.

The poll, which surveyed 2,703 respondents in January 2013—several weeks after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School—found 69 percent of respondents support a ban on the sale of military-style assault rifles, and 68.4 percent support a ban on the sale of large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., author of the Assault Weapons Ban of 2013 and a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said: “More and more Americans agree weapons of war do not belong on our streets—it’s time to take meaningful action now. This poll demonstrates the widespread support for a ban on the sale of military-style assault weapons that have no place in a civilized society.

“With public support surging, now is the time for Americans to stand up to the gun lobby to get these dangerous weapons out of our schools, our workplaces, our malls and our theaters, no matter how long it takes. This is a battle worth waging.”

The data can be found online in an article in the New England Journal of Medicine, “After Newtown—Public Opinion on Gun Policy and Mental Illness,” by Colleen Barry, Emma McGinty, Jon Vernick and Daniel Webster.

LIES, and blatant and almost laughable propaganda! LMAO!!!!!! “Bloomberg School of Public Health” says it all, since he’s the money-man behind the gun-grabber movement.
More than 70% of conservatives, and more than 55% of liberals say if they go after our guns, they will LOSE the next reelection worse than in 1994! Democrats are crazy for even bringing the topic of gun-control up, as well as trying to circumvent the Bill of Rights.

  2. CommonSense says:

lies lies and more lies. local poll shows americans want communism and to give up their constitutional rights. what a bunch of bs. all lies to further push ignorant people into accepting total control. hitler came across as a great guy at first slowly took gun rights away from citizens. you seen what happened. learn from the past or your doomed to repeat it. we have politicians making a 100k worth less than a million a few years later worth 100s of millions. wake up. government serves you. it is not your master. educate yourself.

  3. AK47DEM says:

These polls are stupid and reflect nothing. I live in KY, am a Democrat, will NOT support a cosmetic weapon ban or magazine ban, and NONE of the hundreds of people I know support them either. These polls are only representative of the daft urban city dwellers that are polled who don’t even know what an “assault weapon” is.

  4. Should survey among those that vote and contribute money to campaigns.

  5. Al_x says:

One cannot without abandoning all critical thinking support the bill proposed by Feinstein.

  6. I think this poll had “no good answer” questions so that no matter how you answered you we counted as a positive towards gun control. I have been called for some of these tilted polls, and had to come up with a different answer on almost all the questions so my response most likely came up as a “no opinion” answer. For example one of the questions was along the lines of: “Do you favor a ban of assault type weapons or just the limiting of magazine capacity? press 1 for ban assault weapons or press 2 for limiting magazine capacity. Allowing for no good answer.
