1850 - Henry Mayo Newhall arrives in California [story]

The Golden Valley Road extension is set to be unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday in the brand new Five Knolls master-planned community.

The road extension, which is part of the Five Knolls community project, will extend Golden Valley Road to Plum Canyon Road.

A ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the the opening of the extension will begin at 10 a.m. with shuttle services starting at 9:45 a.m., according to the ceremony invitation from Five Knolls.

goldenvalley5knollsWith the completion of the road extension and the Five Knolls master-planned community, the homes in Grayson at Five Knolls, Brighton at Five Knolls and Highglen at Five Knolls will now be available for purchase, according to Gail Morgan, a spokeswoman for the city of Santa Clarita in a previous story.

In addition to the Golden Valley Road extension, the Golden Valley Park ribbon cutting ceremony will take place immediately following the ceremony for the road extension, according to the ceremony invitation from Five Knolls.

In February, TRI Pointe Homes Southern California officials announced the acquisition of 119 lots in Grayson at Five Knolls, located in the master-planned community by Brookfield Residential, according to a news release.

Homes in the Grayson at Five Knolls section are expected to have a starting price in the low $500,000s, while homes in the Brighton at Five Knolls and Highglen at Five Knolls are expected to start at $600,000 and $700,000 respectively.

“With a premier location near major transportation and job corridors, we anticipate that the interest at Grayson at Five Knolls will be quite strong,” said TRI Pointe Homes Southern California Division President Tom Grable in a news release.

“The idyllic hillside setting with great views and access to quality schools will make the new residences even more attractive to homebuyers.”

  8. Stacy Brown says:

Please have Police Officers out there. People race up and down Golden Valley in their vehicles all the time. It’s only going to be worse now. Hopefully we can get more stop lights to slow drivers down a little.

  9. SJ says:

  17. Billy Lowry says:

How about you just stop building more houses in the city it’s been destroyed enough already I’ve lived here for 38 years and watch this town go to s***. And what about all these BS studies that were done to be able to sustain the growth and water supply now I get to water my yard twice a week

  18. Chris Taylor says:

Yay. More traffic for the scv.

  19. Can someone do something with the long long line of cars on Golden Valley making a right turn on Sierra to jump onto the 14? This neighborhood and now Plum Canyon people will add to this already congested Right Turn.

  20. Think it will help with traffic flow overall…but it sure would be good to have the Via Princess extension to connect up with Newhall / Wiley Canyon area. I see Via Princess extension to Golden Valley will hopefully be done within this next year: http://www.santa-clarita.com/filecenter/external/planning/via-princessa/3_0_ProjDescription_060112.pdf
