The City of Santa Clarita invites community members to welcome the New Year at the Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim on Thursday, Jan. 1, at 9 a.m. The FREE event will be held at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center Waterslide Pool, located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway.
The Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim allows residents to ride down the chilly Aquatic Center waterslide and splash through the unheated pool. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided to warm up swimmers after they take the plunge. All participants will receive commemorative gift and photo opportunities with the life-size Polar Bear Swim mascot. Spectators are welcome.
“The Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim is an exciting and popular tradition in Santa Clarita and a great way to start the New Year off with a splash!” said Mayor Marsha McLean.
Aquatic Center doors will open at 8:45 a.m. The Aquatic Center Waterslide Pool will not be open for recreational swimming on January 1 and will close immediately following the Polar Bear Swim.
