Individual and team walkers and runners can now sign up online to participate in Michael Hoefflin Foundation’s Third Annual Walk for Kids with Cancer, scheduled for Saturday, March 23, at College of the Canyons Cougar Stadium. This year’s event will also include a Run.
The annual walk gives individuals, families and teams the chance to show support for a local non-profit that positively impacts the lives of children with cancer and their families. All funds raised from the walk go directly to support the Michael Hoefflin Foundation and its services. Last year’s event raised more than $55,000 for the Foundation.
The early bird registration rate for walkers is $25 per person before March 1. The registration fee for the run is $30 before March 1 and $35 after March 1.
“Every year we are grateful for the support from the community for this event,” said Gillian Stone, executive director of MHF. “Not only does the walk help raise funds for the critical services we provide; it’s also a chance for the community to come together and enjoy a day of exercise for a good cause.”
The walk will begin at 9 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m. Registration for the run will begin at 7 a.m., with the run starting at 8 a.m. The fundraiser will take place rain or shine.
Throughout the year, the Foundation helps families in many ways, including providing gas and grocery assistance, support group meetings, and family outings — aid crucial to families dealing with the emotional and unexpected financial burden of cancer.
