HONOLULU, HAWAI’I — The top-ranked USC women’s water polo team kept its 2016 slate clean with another solid win to keep the Trojans undefeated at 14-0 on the year after a 9-5 win over No. 4 host Hawai’i tonight in Honolulu.
The Rainbow Wahine drummed up the first goal of the game only to see the Trojans punch up four straight goals, ballooning a 2-1 first-quarter lead into a 4-1 advantage on the hands of four different USC scorers. USC’s Stephania Haralabidis would have a hat trick in the books by halftime as USC claimed a 6-4 lead at the break.
Some strong stuff from Brianna Daboub helped USC build a 9-4 lead in the fourth quarter, and USC would fend off the Rainbow Wahine the rest of the way to finish out a final 9-5 victory.
USC’s next official action bring the Trojans back to California for a road trip to San Jose to continue MPSF action. The Trojans will square off against the Spartans at 1 p.m. on March 26 in San Jose.
