Santa Clarita will be getting its first official holiday decorations in Old Town Newhall on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. as a part of the official tree and Main Street lighting event.

The street will display thousands of lights, a 23-foot tree and lighted displays.

Mayor Marsha McLean, Mayor ProTem Bob Kellar and councilmembers Dante Acosta, TimBen Boydston and Laurene Weste will be leading the lighting event and turning on the switch at 7 p.m.

There will be holiday entertainment, a visit from Santa, food trucks, and other free family-friendly activities.

No parking at all…. One big traffic jam….Most articles said 3pm to 6pm…. The CHRISTMAS tree was not lit until 6:55pn kids were cranky, tired…really… We know it’s really all about shopping That is why you have it before Thanksgiving:..when I re-read another article buried in it it said the Tree would be lit AROUND 7pm. And so obvious that you don’t want to call it a Christmas event or tree..
