[KHTS] – Officials with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office released the identification for a man found dead Wednesday in his car in a Ralphs parking lot in Santa Clarita.

Canyon Country dead bodySanta Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies found Cloud Volkert, 54, of Northridge, around 5:15 p.m. dead in a Buick Century.

The vehicle was parked in a lot facing Soledad Canyon Road, about a half-block before Whites Canyon Road. Volkert’s body was found slumped over in the driver’s seat. A witness reported seeing an alcohol container in the car.

The cause of death was pending an autopsy, which had not yet been performed, according to Lt. David Smith

Allison Malson, Yeah as if it was so easy to just pick up everything and leave. I would if i could, hardcore drugs are easier to get then alcohol(mostly meth and heroin), people being stabbed at parks and in school, cops abusing there power and MURDERING people when they get the chance, not to mention gangs, rapes, robbery, shootings, meth houses, and crazy homeless people high off there ass trying to cause trouble in the bike paths, and attempted kidnappings. Most of these are in canyon country alone. Yeah but you’re right, we have it so good here. I mean, its nothing like Compton or anything like that.
