harthighindianslogo[KHTS] – The Hart girls tennis team made it close, but lost to San Marino, 10-8, in the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

Hart entered the match with an undefeated 20-0 record. But San Marino earned the No. 1 seed in the tennis playoffs.

The top-two doubles teams from Hart accounted for four sets. Jackie Resler and Madi Ladanyi won two. Lauren Dam and Bailey Sindle also won two sets.

San Marino will play Canyon of Anaheim in the championship match of the Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

In baseball, Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw won the National League Cy Young Award.

It was his second Cy Young Award. He led the National League in strikeouts with 232. His 1.83 ERA was also the best in the major leagues and the lowest since Pedro Martinez’s 1.74 ERA for the Boston Red Sox in 2000.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets, 111-99. Jordan Hill had another big game with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

The Lakers are back home at Staples Center for a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.

The Clippers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 111-103, and won their third game in a row. Blake Griffin scored 22 points and had 12 rebounds. Matt Barnes from the Clippers and Serge Ibaka from the Thunder were ejected in the second quarter for fighting.

The Clippers are back in action on Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets.

In the NHL, the Kings are in New York for a game against Islanders tonight. The Kings are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday. The Kings are also without goaltender Jonathan Quick, who injured his groin and hamstring in the game against the Sabres.

He returned to Los Angeles and will be evaluated by the team doctor. Ben Scrivens will start in goal for the Kings against the Islanders.

Listen to the game between the Kings and the Islanders tonight on AM 1220, KHTS. The puck drops at 4 p.m.
