The Saugus boys golf team is still full of surprises.

Saugus won its first Foothill League golf match in school history by three strokes over West Ranch at Valencia Country Club.

The Centurions were the surprise winners of the Southern Section Northern Team Regional last year after finishing in third place in the Foothill League standings.

Braden Lewis paced Saugus with a 6-over 78. Valencia’s Jonathan Chang shot the low round of the match, a 3-over 75.

The Valencia boys volleyball team won its second Foothill League match of the season in four games over West Ranch. Eric Ensing had 24 kills to lead Valencia.

In high school swimming, the Hart boys and girls swept West Ranch at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center. The Hart boys won, 119-51. The Hart girls won, 129-46.

In high school tennis, the Valencia boys beat Saugus, 18-0, and lost only three games in a Foothill League match. The Vikings improved to 3-0 in the Foothill League standings.

The Hart boys beat Golden Valley, 10-8, to improve to 2-1 in the Foothill League standings.

In the Ice Station Valencia high school hockey league, the Vikings are off to a slow start, losing their second game in row. The reigning Ice Station high school league champions lost to Bakersfield, 9-2, and dropped to 0-2 in the league standings.

The Centurions got five goals from defenseman Dillon Thomas in a 13-0 win over Burbank. He also notched three assists and the Centurions improved to 2-0.

The Indians beat the Cowboys, 6-5, behind a goal and three assists from Greg Figg. Cody Drees scored two goals and had an assist for the Cowboys.

Kyle Ljungren scored a hat trick for the Northerners in a 3-1 win over West Valley.

The Frank McCourt era is finally over for the Dodgers, well, almost over. The group led by Magic Johnson bought the Dodgers for a reported $2 billion. Frank McCourt, the previous owner of the Dodgers, still has a stake in the parking lots though, in the agreement reached to sell the team.

On the field, the Dodgers lost to the Padres, 6-5, in spring training in Arizona. Juan Rivera was 3-for-4 with a home run and drove in two runs for the Dodgers.

In hockey, the Kings are in Calgary for a crucial game against the Flames tonight. The Kings have lost two games in a row and are slipping out of playoff contention.

They have only six games left to play to get back in the top-eight in the Western Conference and qualify for the NHL playoffs.

Listen to the game between the Kings and the Flames tonight on AM 1220, KHTS. The puck drops at 6:30 p.m.
