A Santa Clarita woman was one of five drivers injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Piru late Thursday afternoon that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Glendale man.
Amanda Canfield, 38, suffered a bruised right eye, described as a minor injury by the California Highway Patrol officer investigating the crash.
The Ventura County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Friday as Roberto Villalobos, 25, of Glendale.
The traffic collision happened about 5 p.m. Thursday on Highway 126, west of Center Street.
Villalobos was driving a 2002 Saturn sedan eastbound, in the fast lane, when it ran into the back of a Toyota Rav-4 SUV, also traveling in the fast lane, CHP Officer Berry, of the Moorpark office, wrote in a news release.
The impact caused both vehicles to travel out of control through a designated eastbound left turn lane.
The Saturn then collided into the left rear end of a semi tractor traveling in the eastbound left turn lane, causing the Saturn to overturn on its side.
Both the Saturn and Toyota continued to spin out of control into the westbound traffic lanes.
While in the westbound lanes, a Ford Ranger and a Chevrolet Silverado collided into both vehicles.
At this point, alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the collision, Berry wrote in his report.

I was one of the hundreds of vehicles stuck in that for over an hour which was never reported in traffic reports.
Truly horrific accident.
Why did this driver smash into two vehicles in the fast lane? Why was he driving so fast? Was he texting, distracted?
There are more and more deadly crashes on the 126, esp. in the Piru area. Just wait until those new developments add 20,000 more people to the roads.
