New logo

[SCVEDC] – The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corp. recently contracted Point of View Communications to re-design the organization’s logo and assist in branding. The new logo was revealed and approved at the SCVEDC’s Board of Directors meeting on Nov. 1, 2012.

“The SCVEDC was delighted to work with Point of View Communications to redesign our logo,” said Stacie House, Marketing Manager for the SCVEDC. “The new logo offers our organization a modern and bold look that will provide a strong visual element to our branding efforts. The new logo was strategically designed to offer versatility. This allows for simple modifications to the presentation of our logo as needed without straying away from the core elements of design.”

“We welcomed the opportunity to work with the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corp. in helping further brand their organization as a recognized industry leader in attracting business into the region, facilitating business growth and forging beneficial relationships throughout the community,” said Teresa Todd, President and CEO of Point of View Communications. “Their logo now reflects the importance, strength and upward mobility of their organization, and reinforces their position as a leading regional business organization.”

Point of View Communications previously assisted the SCVEDC with a large-scale map project released earlier this year, and a trade show exhibit, which received an American Advertising Federation award for design excellence.

“The challenge was to strengthen the organization’s brand, while creating something recognizable for their clients, business partners and community to align themselves with,” said Steve Dole, creative director for Point of View Communications and owner of SD Creative Services.

Developing a mark that conveyed the essence of the organization, could stand the test of time and be used in every imaginable visual application were overriding considerations in the design process, which extended over a two-month period, involved more than a dozen idea developments, and several rounds of revisions. “The final product hits all the key points and then some; it’s bold and contemporary, which aligns with their strong presence in the business community,” stated Dole.

In addition to the SCVEDC, Point of View Communications redesigned or revamped logos for two other local business organizations: the Valley Industry Association and SCV Chamber of Commerce. Privately-held companies also contact the agency for logo branding, such as King, King, Alleman & Jensen, SCV Facilities Foundation and SLM Specialized Landscape Management.

“A company’s brand does not begin and end with their logo,” said Todd, who has more than 30 years’ experience in marketing and related fields. “Rather, branding is delivering on a promise with a consistency of message, while establishing a relationship with the intended audience so that people know what they’re getting and can rely upon it.” The challenge for clients is to accomplish this at every audience touch point, through every possible communication channel, and amidst an ever-changing marketing landscape.
