The Valencia girls soccer team took Sunny Hills to the brink of overtime but lost 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the Division 2 playoffs.
Taylor Venegas scored both goals for Valencia, but the Vikings were eliminated by the top-seeded team in the Division 2 playoffs.
With the score tied, 2-2, Sunny Hills scored the game-winner in injury time at the end of the game.
The Vikings end their season as the Foothill League champion with a 17-2-5 overall record.
The West Ranch boys soccer team lost to Oak Hills, 2-1, in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 playoffs.
Wade McMillon scored the only goal for Valencia off an assist from James Lemus. McMillon broke the West Ranch school record with 14 goals.
In high school basketball, the West Ranch boys play Dana Hills in the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division 1A playoffs tonight. The Wildcats are the No. 3 seed in the playoffs and are coming off a 63-50 win over Huntington Beach in the second round.
Dana Hills is the No. 6 seed in the playoffs and beat Troy, 52-38, in the second round.
The Trinity Classical Academy boys basketball team is in the semifinals of the Division 6 playoffs. The second-seeded Knights play third-seeded Joshua Springs at home tonight.
In the NBA, the Clippers lost to the San Antonio Spurs, 116-90. The Spurs are 16-1 in their past 17 games.
