An educational drug seminar organized by Action Family Counseling, which was scheduled for Tuesday, has been cancelled, officials said Monday.
A DEA official who was going to speak on the dangers of heroin, and specifically, a heroin-trafficking group targeting the Santa Clarita Valley, was not able to make it, said Cary Quashen, founder of Action Family Counseling.
“It’s important for us to continue having these events to help our community be aware of the danger of these drugs,” Quashen said.
“Information and knowledge are power, and that’s what we’re about — empowering our community,” he said.
The event was cancelled until future notice, but there will be more events like this in the future.
