Update: Victims of Single-Vehicle Crash Near Agua Dulce ID’d

[KHTS] -Two elderly victims of the single-vehicle crash that occurred on Sierra Highway on Thursday morning have been identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

Raymond Kahoonei, 84, of Saugus, and Chiyo Kahoonei, 82, of Saugus, died on Thursday morning after their vehicle went off the side of the road on Sierra Highway at Agua Dulce Canyon Road, according to Kristy McCracken, an investigator with the L.A. County Department of Coroner.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 7:23 a.m. to a report of a car fire, said Bernard Peters, a supervisor with the L.A. County Fire Department.

Upon arrival, fire and California Highway Patrol officials discovered a vehicle off the side of the road. Both parties were pronounced dead on scene, said Peters.

CHP is still investigating the crash.
