[LASD] – A proactive deputy from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station located and arrested the man believed to have stolen a women’s purse from a Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Newhall on Nov. 25.
The arrest was made Saturday at 2:15 a.m.
Deputies were able to obtain a partial license plate of the suspect’s vehicle. After an extensive follow up investigation, Varastad Derbedrosian, a 29-year-old male from Glendale was arrested in Newhall on a felony charge of petty theft with a prior. He is being held at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $20,000 bail.
The case will be presented to the district attorney’s office and Varastad Derbedrosian is due to appear in court Tuesday.
