The headline almost writes itself: Preston White is, well, white hot.
The TMU junior wrapped out two more hits Saturday in an 8-5 win over Providence Christian College at the 4-Him Classic in Phoenix.
White has now had at least a pair of hits in six of the Mustangs’ seven games this season. Master’s is 5-2 after building a six-run lead by the middle of the fourth inning Saturday. Then it was a matter of holding on as Providence tacked on three runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the sixth.

White, also a power pitcher, struck out three Sea Beggars in the bottom of the seventh for his second save of the season.
The Mustangs scored once in the second, twice in the third and three times in the fourth.
The fourth was punctuated by a trio of RBI singles, by Aaron Shackelford, White and Jaiden France.
Shackelford finished the day 2-for-3, while teammate Adam Rubio was 2-for-4, with an RBI, helping the Mustangs finish the three-day tournament at 2-2.
The Mustangs will open Golden State Athletic play next week, traveling south to take on San Diego Christian.
