LASD Press Release, Thursday 2:11 a.m.:

TIME: 2:46 PM

LOCATION: 30000 block of Briggs Road, Agua Dulce

VICTIM:

59-year-old female

23-year-old male

SUSPECTS:

45-year-old Clyde Richards, Male Black

46-year-old Collin Foster, Male Black

UNIT: Palmdale Sheriff’s Station

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Palmdale Station deputies responded to the 30000 block of Briggs Road, Agua Dulce, after receiving a call of a kidnapping that had just occurred. When deputies arrived they contacted the 59 year-old female victim who told deputies the suspects tied her up, assaulted her and threatened to kill her with a handgun. After the suspects left, she was able to free herself and discovered her 23 year-old son was missing and believed he had been kidnapped.

Deputies obtained the suspects’ vehicle description and relayed that information to assisting patrol deputies. A short time later, Santa Clarita Station deputies observed the suspects’ vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop on the Northbound 5 freeway at McBean Parkway. Both suspects were found inside the vehicle along with a large amount of marijuana. The male victim was not found inside the vehicle. No weapon was recovered at the time of the traffic stop.

Palmdale Station deputies conducted a ground search of the area near the incident location. The male victim was found by a Sheriff’s helicopter hiding in a ravine approximately one-quarter mile from the incident location. He said he had been tied up and forced, by gun point, into the suspects’ vehicle. The suspects threatened to kill the victim. The victim was able to free himself, flee from the vehicle and hide in a ravine until he was found by Sheriff’s Deputies. Both victims sustained minor injuries.

The suspects were transported and booked at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. They were both charged with assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and criminal threats. The ongoing investigation will be handled by the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau.

Original story:

A woman was beaten in her home in Agua Dulce Wednesday afternoon and her adult son was abducted.

The following information is PRELIMINARY. It comes directly from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department crime broadcast in the Palmdale and Santa Clarita Valley station areas.

An armed robbery and abduction occurred approximately 3 p.m. from a home in the 30000 block of Briggs Road in Agua Dulce. The two suspects were identified as black males.

One was identified as Clyde Richards, a male black wearing blue shorts and with a bald head. The other suspect was identified only as Gilroy, male black, age 40-45, 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with a camo T-shirt, black pants and a shaved head.

Per the crime broadcast, the suspects grabbed the mom, tied her up, threw her into a bathtub and beat her unconscious. She was threatened with a small-caliber pistol, possibly a .22.

The suspects then abducted the woman’s son, a male black age 23.

The suspects had parked a vehicle down the street. It was described as an older Nissan Pathfinder with a homemade roof rack.

A police pursuit ensued.

At about 3:40 p.m., the suspect vehicle was stopped and its two occupants were arrested on northbound Interstate 5 at McBean Parkway. The freeway was temporarily shut to effect the arrest.

The whereabouts of the abducted 23-year-old man are unknown as of 4 p.m. He is described as male black, 6-foot-1, weighing 200 pounds, with dreadlocks.
