Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

 

During the past week, Newhall (Zone 6) had six reported part one crimes. Newhall saw one reported vehicle burglary, two grand thefts, one incident of shoplifting, one residential burglary, and one petty theft.

A petty theft was reported from a supermarket located on the 24100 block of Lyons Avenue. The report states a white female, approximately 55 years old, entered the location and purchased some items. The female exited the supermarket riding one of the store’s electric wheelchair shopping carts. The female was last seen riding on Wiley Canyon Road in a southern direction away from the store. (ref -18415).

A vehicle burglary was reported from the 23900 block of Calgrove Blvd, in Newhall. On 12/26/12 during the AM hours, the victim reported an unknown suspect entered his locked vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of a local fitness facility. Credit cards and US currency were stolen from inside the vehicle (ref -18210).

Deputies assigned to work the Newhall area (Zone 6) continue to be proactive, even though the holiday season. Numerous arrests were made during the past week including the capturing of suspects who had outstanding arrest warrants and two D.U.I. arrests.
