This week’s SCVTV Outstanding Student of the Week is Sarah Carey from West Ranch High School.
Sarah has a 4.69 GPA and currently holds the spot for the 2013 class valedictorian at West Ranch.
She has passion for music coupled with an entrepreneur’s spirit and says one day she’d like to start her own record label, or manage talented artists.
“I love music and it’s definitely part of my life,” she said.
“Recently I’ve liked getting to know the smaller bands and watching them grow and get more fans and get discovered. Seeing all of their hard work and how it pays off, I kind of want to be a part of that.”
After being accepted to six universities from across the country, including a full ride to NYU, Sarah says remaining close to family is the reason she’ll stay put on the west coast to study music industry after graduation.
“I’m an only child so I kind of want to stay with my parents, so I figured I would stay closer to home. It’s either Pepperdine or UCLA.”
This hard working senior spends much of her free time studying and doing homework but still manages to make time for the things she loves.
“My social life comes from church. I’m part of the church choir, so they’ve become my close friends.”
Congratulations to Sarah Carey, the SCVTV Outstanding Student of the Week.
