The public is invited to attend a heartwarming ceremony at the Veterans Historical Plaza in Newhall to celebrate the nation’s military service members, past and present.

Prayer Angels for the Military is hosting Santa Clarita’s 8th annual Military Honor Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.

Pictures of veterans and active-duty military will be laminated and hung on the tree, which will be illuminated with red, white and blue lights through New Year’s Day.

The ceremony will feature speeches, singers, carolers, hot cocoa, prayer and the tree lighting.

Veterans Historical Plaza is located at 24275 N Walnut St.,at the “triangle” of Newhall Avenue, Walnut and Market streets.
