[KHTS] – A man arrested for possession of several pounds of methamphetamine skipped his court date and has a half-million-dollar bench warrant out for his arrest, officials said Thursday.
Victor Ochoa, 28, is facing one count of transportation of a narcotics for sale, according to a spokeswoman with the District Attorney’s Office.
Ochoa was pulled over for a traffic stop April 29 around 10:10 p.m., according to Sheriff’s Department arrest records..
After their subsequent investigation, deputies reportedly found four pounds of methamphetamine in the vehicle Ochoa was driving.
He was scheduled to appear at a pre-preliminary hearing May 11, when both sides were expected to discuss the case and its schedule.
At a preliminary hearing, the judge hears the evidence against a defendant and decides if there’s enough to merit a trial.
Ochoa now has a $500,000 warrant out for his arrest.
