Wildwood Canyon Update: Out of the Ashes, Sprouts New Growth
Wildwood Canyon Open Space trail – June 26, 2015
On June 24, 2015, the Calgrove Fire burned about 400 acres in the Wildwood Canyon Open Space. The fire damage was unfortunate, but luckily no lives or homes were lost. *Portions of the trails in this area have been damaged and are currently closed.*
Growth on the Wildwood Canyon Open Space trail – July 30 (one month later)
Although the Calgrove Fire devastated much of the vegetation in the area, the summer rains have helped new growth in the area.
When visiting Wildwood Canyon, it is advised that visitors please remember to remain on the marked trails and not step off-trail.
We look forward to seeing more new growth in this area!
