The California Association of Realtors today installed its 2017 Leadership Team on Monday. Leading the team is C.A.R. President Geoff McIntosh, a 30-year real estate veteran and broker in Southern California. Serving with McIntosh are President-elect Steve White, Treasurer Jared Martin, and Chief Executive Officer Joel Singer. The 2017 officers begin their official term this week at the close of the National Association of Realtors Conference and Expo in Orlando, Fla.

Active in organized real estate since 1987, McIntosh is broker and co-owner of Main Street Realtors in Long Beach, Calif. He most recently served as C.A.R. president-elect and has served in other leadership positions for his local, state, and national associations of Realtors. He also served two years as the Association’s treasurer in 2014 and 2015.

Previously, McIntosh served as president of the Pacific West Association of Realtors, the Greater Long Beach Association of REALTORS, and the Apartment Association California Southern Cities. He also has served as an officer and member of the board of director of the California Regional Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CRMLS).

At the state level, he chaired C.A.R.’s Legislative Committee in 2013 and was Vice Chair of the committee in 2012. He also has served on numerous C.A.R. committees, including Strategic Planning and Finance, Executive, and EXPO Advisory. He was named C.A.R. Director-for-Life in 2010.

At the national level, McIntosh has served on NAR’s Board of Directors since 2006.

Serving as president-elect is Steve White, co-owner of Keller Williams VIP Properties and co-president and owner of Pathway Escrow Inc., both in Valencia. He is also owner and operating principal of Keller Williams Realty Northridge and owner of Closing Solutions Escrow, both in Northridge, Calif. White comes from a family of Realtors, with his mother, brother, and sister all active in the real estate business.

He began his real estate career in 1986 and began to serve in organized real estate in 1992 as a member, then chair of the MLS Committee at the former Santa Clarita Valley Association of Realtors (SCVAOR). He led the effort to merge SCVAOR into the Southland Regional Association of Realtors (SRAR) and was named its Realtors-Associate of the Year in 2002, president in 2006, and Realtors of the Year in 2008. He has been a C.A.R. and NAR Director continuously since 1994 and 2004, respectively.

Returning for a second year as treasurer is Jared Martin, a Central Valley real estate broker and one of the owners of a real estate franchise, Keller Williams Westland Realty, in Fresno, Calif. As a third-generation REALTOR, he has worked with his family’s business for the past 14 years.

In addition to serving his clients, Martin also is active with his local, state, and national associations of Realtors. He was president of the Fresno Association of Realtors in 2009, served on its Executive Committee in 2008-2009 and 2014-2015, and was its treasurer in 2014 and 2015. At the state level, he has served on numerous committees, including Taxation and Government Finance (2014), Distressed Property Task Force (2012), Strategic Planning and Finance (Vice-chair in 2013), and Federal (Vice-chair in 2014) committees. Also active with NAR, Martin served on NAR’s Commercial Leadership Forum, Commercial, Research, and Commercial Economic Issues and Trends committees. Martin has been an NAR Golden “R” member since 2004.

C.A.R. CEO Joel Singer has held the Association’s top staff position since November 1989 after serving as C.A.R.’s chief economist and heading the Association’s public affairs department. He was instrumental in developing Real Estate Business Services Inc. (REBS), C.A.R.’s for-profit subsidiary, and serves as its president. He also is president and chief executive officer of zipLogix, where he was influential in the recent transaction between the National Association of Realtors and zipLogix to provide zipForm Plus and zipTMS™ as a free member benefit to all NAR members.

In 2015 and 2016, Singer was named to Swanepoel’s Power 200 list, which identifies the 200 leaders that have the most power and influence to impact the residential real estate brokerage industry. He was named to the 2015 Inman 101 list of real estate industry doers “whose ingenuity, outspokenness, strength, conviction, power, and persistence are driving change.”

Leading the way… in California real estate for more than 110 years, the California Association of Realtors (www.car.org) is one of the largest state trade organizations in the United States, with more than 185,000 members dedicated to the advancement of professionalism in real estate. C.A.R. is headquartered in Los Angeles.
