SCV Youth Project Yes to Youth logoComedians Nikki Glaser, Rod Man, Jamie Kennedy and Matt Donaher are the headliners of the 6th annual “Comics for the Cause” show at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center August 16 benefitting the SCV Youth Project.

One hundred percent of the show’s proceeds will go to the non-profit SCV Youth Project, which helps teens navigate some of life’s toughest challenges through counseling and outreach.

A VIP party starts at 6 p.m. and the laughs begin at 7:30.

Tickets are $55 and $40; add $35 to attend the VIP party (limited to first 100 people).

Jamie Kennedy, comedian, actor, producer has done it all. Jamie appeared in Wes Craven’s “Scream,” “Scream 2,” “Bowfinger,” “As Good As It Gets,” “Three Kings” and “Enemy of the State.” He created and starred in “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment” and later in his own special on Comedy Central, “Unwashed.” He provided the voice for “The Cleveland Show” on Fox and starred as psychology professor Eli James in the CBS drama “Ghost Whisperer” from 2008 to 2010, recurring role in “Kingdom” and the NBC dramedy, “Heartbeat.” He continues to perform stand-up all over the country and is a fan favorite wherever he goes.

He provided the voice for “The Cleveland Show” on Fox and starred as psychology professor Eli James in the CBS drama “Ghost Whisperer” from 2008 to 2010, recurring role in “Kingdom” and the NBC dramedy, “Heartbeat.” He continues to perform stand-up all over the country and is a fan favorite wherever he goes.

Nikki Glaser

Nikki Glaser

Nikki Glaser is star of the hit Comedy Central series “Not Safe w/ Nikki Glaser.” The show featured some of comedy’s funniest voices as they joke, learn, and share their personal stories about sex, relationships, and other taboo topics. The series premiered in February 2016 and was also Comedy Central’s first series to be introduced and developed across multiple social platforms, including a companion Snapchat original series, “Quickie with Nikki.”

Previously, Nikki hosted the MTV late-night talk show “Nikki and Sara LIVE” and co-hosted the popular podcast “You Had To Be There.” She has also made memorable appearances on Comedy Central’s “@midnight” with Chris Hardwick, “Inside Amy Schumer” and “The Roast of Rob Lowe.”

Glaser continues to cement her status as a force in stand-up comedy. Her first one-hour stand-up special, “Perfect,” premiered on Comedy Central in April 2016. Her “Half Hour Netflix Special” will premiere this year, and she will continue to tour as a headliner in theaters and clubs across the country.

Matt Donaher

Matt Donaher

Matt Donaher, named by Comedy Central as one of their “Comics to Watch,” has performed on “Conan” multiple times. He recently had the honor of being a New Face in the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, where his performance led to him being selected to perform on the CW show “All-Star Comedy” hosted by Howie Mandel, starring Russell Peters, Tom Papa, Iliza Shlesinger, J.B. Smoove and more.

Donaher is the winner of the Magner’s Comedy Festival and has been featured in the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in Scotland, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival in NYC and was one of twenty comedians hand-picked by David Letterman’s Talent Coordinator to perform in the Johnny Carson Great American Comedy Festival in Norfolk, Nebraska and the Boston Phoenix named him the best comedian in Boston.

Donaher runs a monthly show at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles with his co-host Caitlin Durante called “Luck of the Draw.” It was named one of the best secret comedy shows by Thrillist.

Rod Man

Rod Man

Best known as the winner of “Last Comic Standing” Season 8, comedian Rod Man is truly a gem in the world of stand-up comedy today. Since those open mic nights, Rod has become an award-winning, quintessential entertainer.

He has graced the stage at Caesar’s Palace, the Gibson Amphitheater and the Apollo Theater. He is currently the host of his own YouTube shows “Time Out with Rod Man” and “That Good Funny.”

Rod Man is competing on the upcoming season of “Last Comic Standing” and has made many other television appearances, including “The Bad Boys of Comedy” for HBO, Martin Lawrence’s “First Amendment” for Starz, Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out” for MTV, “One Mic Stand” for BET, “The Funny Spot” for TV One, and “The World Stands Up” for BBC America.

He even co-hosted a morning drive-time show in Los Angeles on Stevie Wonder-owned KJLH Radio 102.3 FM.

Rod Man is also an actor and writer, known for his roles in “Funny People” (2009) with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen, “The Big Black Comedy Show, Vol. 2” (2005) and “The Chocolate Sundaes Comedy Show”(2013).

Randy Lubas

Randy Lubas

Emcee Randy Lubas has performed at more than 5,000 shows all across the country, opened J.R.’s Comedy Club, Ventura Harbor Comedy Club and produces the Ventura Comedy Festival. He’s been seen on Showtime, HBO, Comedy Central and so much more.

“Comics for the Cause” is presented this year by Bay Equity Home Loans, with other sponsors including Federal Escrow, Inc. and the Santa Clarita Soccer Center.
