Marcelo Vazquez of Cal State University, Los Angeles offers some one-on-one advice at Wednesday's College & Career Fair.
What are the benefits of going to College of the Canyons? Why don’t all CSU campuses offer the same programs? When is the last time a student can take the SAT for admission to the UC system in 2012? (Answer: December.)
Hundreds of parents and Hart District students learned the answers to these questions and more at the district’s first College and Career Fair, held Wednesday night at West Ranch High School.
The event was designed to provide students the information they need to make intelligent post-secondary education decisions.
West Ranch booster clubs provided refreshments and raised money for their programs.
Participants shuttled from room to room at West Ranch for focused presentations on topics ranging from the University of California and Cal State University application processes to the difference between the SAT and ACT tests. Sessions were offered in English and Spanish to explain the eligibility requirements for financial aid.
Several sessions will be available in both for later viewing in both English and Spanish on SCVTV (Time Warner Cable Channel 20, AT&T U-verse Channel 99, SCVTV.com stream).
