After leading their respective squads to upcoming appearances in the Golden State Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament, two players from The Master’s College have been named All-GSAC. In a vote by conference coaches, Lena Rivera was named to the women’s team while Anthony Cammon was a choice on the men’s squad.
Rivera, a junior guard from Allen, Texas, earned all-conference honors for the first time after leading the Mustangs in seven different categories, including rebounding (214, 7.1rpg), assists (82), steals (68), blocked shots (26), and double-doubles (8). Currently, she is the club’s second-leading scorer at 9.5ppg. She tallied a season-high 23 points vs. Bethel of Tennessee on November 19, 2011, and yanked down a career-best 18 rebounds vs. Pt. Loma Nazarene on February 18.
Cammon (Moreno Valley, CA), the club’s leading for the second year in a row, is a first-time honoree, as well. In addition to pacing the Mustangs in seven different categories, he is the GSAC leader in free throw percentage (90%) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.33), and is fourth in scoring (15.1ppg) and third in steals (1.9spg). He has scored in double figures 24 times (30 games played) with a season-high of 27 at Academy of Art University on December 30, 2011.
