Winning students in the annual VIA STAR competition (aka Students Team to Achieve Results) will present their projects at the Valley Industry Association’s April luncheon.
The STAR contest brings K-12 students together with Santa Clarita Valley businesses, exposing the participants to the realities of the working world. Over a two-month period, the teams research, brainstorm and design a new product or service for their host business. Then they draft a business plan to build and market the product and present their completed project to the host company and a panel of judges.
The luncheon will be held April 17 at 11:45 a.m. at the Valencia Country Club, 27330 Tourney Road. Tickets are $35 for VIA members before April 8 and $50 at the door. Guests are welcome.
As a bonus, Jason Crawford from the city of Santa Clarita will highlight the components of the city’s current economic development plan.
RSVP by calling 661-294-8088. For more information visit www.via.org.
