U.S. Rep. Howard “Buck” McKeon announced Wednesday that his Chief of Staff, Bob Cochran, will be retiring at the end of the year after 29 years of service with the United States House of Representatives. Prior to working the past 20 years for Congressman McKeon, Cochran worked for 9 years as District Director for Congressman Carlos Moorhead, whose Congressional District included the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.
“When I was elected to Congress in 1992, one of my first important actions as a newly elected Member was to appoint Bob as my Chief of Staff,” said McKeon. “Bob has served in this position with distinction and been a loyal soldier on behalf of myself and the constituents of the 25th District. His success with my office will follow him into the private sector and I wish him all the best with his new endeavor.”
“After a wonderful and rewarding career in Congress, I feel it is the right time to retire,” said Bob Cochran. “Working with Congressman McKeon has been an absolute honor and privilege and I am proud to be a part of the McKeon team.”
Cochran will be taking a position with Porter Gordon Silver Communications, working with former Congressman Jon Porter of Nevada beginning in January 2013.
