Two players from the Foothill League were selected to the All-CIF girls volleyball team.

Hart senior libero Katie Baker and Valencia senior outside hitter Delaney Knudsen earned spots on the Southern Section Division 1A team.

Haley DeSales from La Salle was the Division 1A player of the year.

Christina Keoshian from Santa Clarita Christian was selected to the Division 5AA team.

In high school soccer, the Hart boys are ranked No. 6 in the Southern Section Division 4 poll. The Indians are 4-0 and are coming off a 1-0 shutout over San Fernando. They play Notre Dame of Salinas today at 5:30.

The Valencia boys are home for a match against Alemany today. The Trinity boys play Santa Clarita Christian in a match-up of crosstown rivals at The Master’s College.

The Saugus girls are ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Division 2 poll. Sunny Hills is the No. 1 ranked team in Division 2.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls are ranked No. 8 in the Division 7 poll. Marshall is No. 1 in Division 7.

In high school basketball, the Saugus girls beat Campbell Hall, 48-32, in the opening game of the Milken Tournament. Faye Osburn scored 11 points to lead the Centurions.

Saugus plays Buckley in the next round of the tournament today.

On the boys side, Canyon is home for a non-league game against Arcadia tonight.

The Hart boys begin play in the La Canada Tournament today.

The NHL owners cancelled games through Dec. 30 after the latest rounds of negotiations between the players association failed to produce a collective bargaining agreement.

The NHL has cancelled 442 regular season games, the All-Star game and the New Year’s Day Winter Classic because of the lockout. The latest round of cancellations will bring the total number of games lost to 526. The season was supposed to start on Oct. 11.
