Nominees for the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards were announced on Jan. 27, and four CalArtians have made the list.
* Lighting designer Christopher Kuhl (Theater BFA 05) is nominated for his work on The Nether, a sci-fi thriller set in a virtual reality.
* Jessica Kubzansky (Theater MFA 94) is in the running for her directorial work on R II, a re-imagining of Shakespeare’s Richard II, cast with only three actors.
* School of Theater faculty member Tina Kronis is nominated for her choreography in Track 3, an exploration of Checkov’s Three Sisters, presented by Theatre Movement Bazaar and Bootleg Theater.
* School of Theater faculty member Bart DeLorenzo is also being honored with The Milton Katselas Award for Career or Special Achievement in Direction.
The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle was founded in 1969. It is dedicated to excellence in theatrical criticism and to the encouragement and improvement of theatre in Greater Los Angeles.
The 45th Annual Awards ceremony will take place Mar. 17 at The Colony Theatre in Burbank.
