Valencia Man Pleads Not-Guilty to Shooting Woman in Eye

[KHTS] – A Valencia man facing a maximum of life in prison pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges in connection to an alleged road-rage attack in Stevenson Ranch.

Cory Allen Flenory, 27, is facing one count each of mayhem and vandalism over $400, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

The case against Flenory also includes the allegation that he used the BB gun as a deadly weapon and that he has a 2005 felony conviction in Tulare for carjacking, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, according to Guy Shirley, deputy district attorney.

santa-clarita-deputies-search-victim-walmart-parking-lotThe felony complaint also includes one count of injuring a spouse for an unrelated May 5 incident also involving a BB gun.

On May 17, Flenory shot one of two victims in the eye after they attempted to confront him over almost colliding with his vehicle at a Walmart parking lot, the prosecutor said. The victim suffered permanent damage to her eye.

The defendant was combative upon arrest and kicked out the rear passenger window of a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station patrol car, Shirley added.

If convicted as charged, Flenory faces multiple life terms in state prison, officials said.

He’s being held at Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $1.275 million bail, according to Sheriff’s Station records.

    He plead not guilty, he wasn’t found not guilty. No verdict has been rendered in the case yet. Nothing has gone wrong with the system in this case. He isn’t going to say guilty because if he does he is going to face life in prison.

    Two of the four charges will be dropped, mayhem and vandalism will stick it’s not a fire arm, it is in the same category as a sling shot that can put your eye out also, hitting her in the eye was very bad luck, if it would have hit her in the neck or arm it would have only been a welt. Plea bargain for five years In state prison and that’s no picnic,

    He obviously had a history of other crimes he committed and I hope he rots in prison!! I feel so bad for the young girl who has to live the rest of her life with permanent damage to her eye. So sad.

    People needs to mind their own business, this was all a lie!!!!!!! I would love to see justice in this case, TELL THE TRUTH, This man is being charged for something he did not do, he was not even in the same city at the time of this t happening, he was 6 hours away.
