I love how they are spinning this! My son was at the game and the GV player was taunted and mocked by WR students throughout the game then called over when the game was finished for more taunting…the WR student threw the first punch!!! Don’t believe everything you read!!!!
Well your son was wrong. The WR kid did not throw the first punch because if he did, then he would have been in custody and not the Gv kid. The basketball player punched first after words were exchanged.

Amy, I completely agree. I was there as well and the WR students were absolutely at fault.
They may have taunted but he walked over and escalated things then threw punches. Any athlete should know that taunting is part of an opponents tactic to get in their head and should just walk away. No shame in that. Its always the retaliation the gets in trouble, because taunting is not a crime. Assault is.

Wow Daniel! I hope you don’t have children! Just because a student goes to a school based on the location of his home in which his parents own or rent does not mean he’s trash. Yes GV has a reputation but the richest kids still have tempers and get into trouble, every school in our valley has the same issues. I would hope that in this day n age we are above labeling.

Ah Denise, Now the story is getting interesting. (there is probably a reason he left WR). I have teenagers in the Hart school District and have seen first hand how rude opposing school spirit can be. I suggest the district take the anti-bullying campaigns to the playing field and call it a “Good Sportsmanship Program”! The crowds are way too emotional and mean at times. :)
Yes there is a reason he left WR. I attend the school and I personally know the basketball player who was arrested. He left because he didn’t like the athletic program at WR so he transferred to Valencia for one year, then decided he didn’t like that school either so he transferred again to GV. Don’t be so quick to make assumptions.
There is video out there of the happenings I’m sure.
