The Open Book Valencia invites all Wizards, Witches, Muggles, and Purebloods of all ages to celebrate the birthday of everyone’s favorite boy wizard. To promote the magic of literacy, we will be offering one free bag of kids’ books throughout the entire day, to any child present under the age of 12. We will also be hosting our first annual Harry Potter Fan-art contest, with prizes for first, second, and third place.

In addition, we will have a whole day of fun Wizarding activities, including wand crafting, spell book binding, a trivia contest, potion brewing, and the fortune telling services of the mysterious Madame V.

Our sister stores – The $5 Or Less Bookstore in Simi Valley, the $10 or Less Bookstore in Northridge, and The Open Book at the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks – will be celebrating as well, with the same offer of one free bag of kids books to every child under the age of 12.  Each store will also have its own unique itinerary of events for the day.
