A section of the Pacific Crest Trail on Bureau of Land Management lands has been closed due to the Sand Fire in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles County.
Approximately one mile of the trail has been closed between Highway 14 and Soledad Canyon Rd. The BLM will post closure signs at the main entry points to this area.
The Sand Fire started on July 22. Fire activities continue around the Pacific Crest Trail and surrounding areas.
This temporary emergency closure is effective August 12 and shall remain in effect until rescinded or modified by the Authorized Officer.
