1962 - Articles of incorporation filed for Golden State Memorial Hospital on Lyons Avenue [story]
Golden State Hospital

UPDATE: As of 1:30 p.m. October 19, 2016, we have given away all of the free Clubs. Stay tuned, as we hope to bring this popular program back in the very near future. We encourage everyone to continue to take the simple steps outlined below to protect your cars from thieves.

Auto theft in Santa Clarita has been a continuing challenge for law enforcement. A common sense approach to protection is the simplest and most cost-effective way way to thwart would-be thieves. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies recommend you should secure your vehicle even if parking for a brief period. You should always:

* Remove your keys from the ignition

* Lock your door/ close your windows

* Park in a well-lit area

Original Post:

Starting Tuesday, October 18, 2016, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will be giving away “The Club”, an auto theft prevention device, to Santa Clarita residents who are the registered owner of either a Honda Accord or Honda Civic (model years 1991-1998) on a first come, first serve basis. These vehicles are commonly stolen vehicles in our City, and by handing these clubs out, the goal is to lower the vehicle theft rate in our area.

In order to receive a Club, you have to show proof of residency and ownership for one of these vehicles:

Honda Civic or Honda Accord, model years 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998

You can pick up a free club* at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station (while supplies last), Tuesday through Thursday, between the hours of 10 AM – 2 PM.

*To qualify, you must be a Santa Clarita Valley resident and bring your identification and proof of registration.*

The devices have been provided to the Sheriff’s Department free of charge by the Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention (TRAP), Los Angeles County’s regional, multi-jurisdictional, multi-agency taskforce that investigates, prosecutes and deters vehicle theft and vehicle fraud on a coordinated and cooperative basis.
